The University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN) is to launch an academic broadcasting unit (RTU) soon. Sources said on Friday that the radio station project, which was initiated a few years ago by the university, was made possible by the support of Belgian technical cooperation (CTB), which would support it for five years.
The radio station, which is to assist students from the UNIKIN’s Department of Public Information and Communication in their training, will only broadcast not only education and development programmes for the university, but also news from other universities. UNIKIN will be the first university in DR Congo to have its own broadcasting station.
