Three Dutch public broadcasters announce merger

As Dutch public broadcasters prepare for expected cuts in government funding when we eventually get a new coalition government, three of them today announced that they are to merge into a single organisation which will launch on 1 September. NPS, RVU and Teleac will become NTR (the initial letters of the three existing broadcasters). The combined organisation will employ about 300 people, and will focus on the same themes as the three existing broadcasters - information, education and culture.
