Dutch commercial broadcaster Talpa Radio has launched its eight new digital radio channels. Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende visited the Talpa studios and gave the signal to start just after 1500 UTC. The site, Radio Digitaal, requires Flash version 7 or higher, and will automatically start to download it if necessary. The following channels are available:
- 24/7 Dance (a spin-off of Van Diepens Dance Department on Radio 538)
- Flashback Radio (music from the 80’s)
- NonStop 40 (the current top 40 played continuously)
- JFK (jazz, funk and soul)
- Power FM (classic rock)
- Real Rock Radio (modern rock)
- Love Radio (love songs)
- Hits 4 Kids (aimed at kids aged 7-12)
All these stations broadcast continuously, with ANP News and weather on the hour. Talpa’s main commercial radio stations - Radio 538, Radio 10 Gold and Juize FM - are also available through the Flash Player.

Not sure why, but I couldn’t get any stations to play - just a message saying “stopped commercial break”

According to my information, the service only currently operates via Internet Explorer or Firefox.
Certainly it doesn’t function under Opera 8.54 but it does in IE 7 …

Was using Firefox when I tried yesterday - have now got Flashback working with IE but only because I went to answer the door and came back to find it was streaming, there was nothing at all on on screen to indicate it was connecting and unlike 10 Gold, Juize and 538 which displays the song on air, with Flashback I have the “playing commercial break message”. Had I not gone to the door I would have assumed it was still not working and moved on elsewhere. Probably just teething issues.
