[Report by Salem Khalil Al-Ahmadi from Medina: "Anti-Terror E-Channel Moves Into TV"]

Muhammad Al-Aqla, President of the Islamic University in Medina, has said that the university’s Internet channel dedicated to fighting terrorism is to be turned into a satellite television channel. Al-Aqla said the university has a comprehensive plan for the channel to confront “all forms of terrorism” and that it is also involved in “promoting dialogue culture and sound Islamic methods”.

“The university believes the media has a significant part to play in enlightening society and particularly young people, and encouraging them to refrain from embracing destructive and deviant thought which has no roots in Islam,” Al-Aqla said.

The university’s e-channel was launched last year by Prince Nayif Bin-Abd-al-Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
