Saudi officials mull English-language Shari’ah TV

Text of report in English by Saudi newspaper Saudi Gazette on 16 April

Medina: The Ministry of Culture and Information is considering launching a satellite television channel for the broadcast of programmes on Shari’ah [Islamic] law in English.

Sulaiman Al-Eidy, an adviser to the Minister of Culture and Information, said the channel would address foreign communities in the Kingdom and that it would represent the ministry’s concern for Holy Koran and Sunnah sciences.
