Sabah information and broadcasting complex ready by year end

Construction work on the RM67.8 million [US$20.85] Sabah Information and Broadcasting Complex is expected to be completed by the end of the year, a slight delay from the original schedule which was in mid-August. Secretary-General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Information Communication and Culture, Datuk Kamaruddin Siaraf, said the delay was due to technical factors which could not be avoided

The integrated complex project in Kepayan would place the State Information Department, the Department of Broadcasting, Bernama, and the Special Affairs Department (Jasa) under one roof. “Although according to the original schedule, the project is expected to be ready in August, we had to draw up a new work schedule due to unavoidable circumstances and there is a strong possibility that the project will be completed by year end.

“That is what we are hoping for, and we will also be contacting the Public Works Department (PWD) headquarters to speed up the approval process for certain plans,” he told reporters after visiting the project site today.
