RNZI to broadcast Oceania Under 17’s football coverage

Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) and Radio New Zealand International (RNZI) are have announced a partnership that will provide full coverage of the upcoming OFC U-17 Championship to football fans throughout the Pacific region. The agreement sees OFC granting RNZI exclusive rights for the tournament, which takes place at Auckland’s North Harbour Stadium from 20-24 April and will determine who out of New Caledonia, New Zealand, Tahiti and Vanuatu will represent Oceania at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Nigeria 2009.

RNZI will provide broadcast coverage and commentaries throughout the competition and promote the relay of matches to Pacific radio stations. Live streaming will be available online at www.rnzi.com with audio also being accessible as downloadable files on OFC’s website www.oceaniafootball.com.

Coverage kicks off at 1230 NZ time (0030 UTC) on Monday April 20 and can be heard on 13730 kHz for analogue shortwave listeners and on 15720 kHz for DRM listeners, and as a live stream on www.rnzi.com.
