Return of 1395 kHz delayed by a few days

UK-based Big L have just announced that the return to the air of 1395 kHz, which is being facilitated with the sponsorship of Dutch-based KBC Radio, has been delayed by a few days. The target date for the resumption of transmissions from the Dutch mediumwave transmitter at Trintelhaven was 1 November, but due to what are described as technical problems, this has been put back to midweek. According to a reliable source, there are some problems with the mast that cannot be fixed until some parts are delivered on Monday. The KBC Radio website also carries information about the delay, and adds “Check out this site the coming week for info about our test transmissions”.

Strange they waited so long to see there was a problem?

Not really. The site has been deserted for about 16 months. The decision to go back on the air was made by the Dutch sponsor, who then had to pay the financial debts owed by Big L to the transmission provider before they would go onsite and reinstall everything. Only then could they ascertain whether anything needs fixing.

The Mast is owned by State owned company Novec.
Broadcast Partners hires it from Novec.
The question is, how good did Novec take care of it’’s property, that was hired out all the time, even when unused?
So who is responsible for the status of the mast, my feeling is this is Novec, so the are liable for the damage now caused by the delay of the re-launch.
