Radio 10 Gold’s Tom Mulder has today been awarded this year’s ‘Oeuvre’ special prize as part of the Marconi Awards at the national Broadcasting Congress. It is equivalent to a lifetime achievement award. Earlier this year, Tom celebrated 35 years as a disk jockey. The jury of the Marconi Awards decided to give the prize to Mulder in recognition of his “cheerful-ironic style”.
Erik de Zwart, Director of Radio 10 Gold, accepted the prize on behalf of Tom, who is recovering from a brain haemorrhage. De Zwart said that for years Tom Mulder has been the driving force behind the success of Radio 10 Gold. Thankfully things are going a bit better for him, but it’s still too early to talk about a return to work. But receiving this prize will undoubtedly be a big help to his recovery, said de Zwart.
