Radio 10 Gold wins Marconi Award for best Dutch radio station

It was announced today at the annual Broadcasting Congress in Bussum that Radio 10 Gold has won the Marconi Award for the best radio station in the Netherlands 2004-2005. The Marconi Awards are the most prestigious radio awards in the country. The jury observed that despite being a mediumwave station (1008 kHz), Radio 10 Gold has succeeded in reaching a large audience. The jury found it a great achievement that a commercial music station keeps mediumwave listening alive. Despite sailing against the wind last year, the programme makers continued to produce friendly radio with noticeable pleasure. They were able to fall back on their creativity, and a musical style which belongs to the best in the Netherlands.

So good for Radio 10 to achive this award.
    Mediumwave is not obsolete.
Now waiting for BIGL to return on 1395.
It gives BIGL its wirelesness back just as R10 has now.

Yes indeed. Well done. Listen regularly after dark here in Northern Ireland. And now that the long nights are drawing in, 10 Gold will be listenable for even more of the day. Great!

Radio 10 Gold remains my favourite music station, even though I am in the UK. At night I always put it on at home, it’s just the mix of music and presentation stayle. I love it, especially the ‘themed’ shows on weekends. 1008 khz is not always so good where I live in Birmungham, but mostly it is ok. I’m no anorak radio listener either. I like 10 Gold cause it is just so good. Well done to them for this awad, they deserve it.

I realize this is a late reply, but I am a recent listener to radio10 gold, and I must say that it is just what the doctor ordered! It gives me a warm feeling inside, and chases away the Blues. Not to beat a dead horse, but radio 10 gold is the cherry on the top of this sundae we call life. Huzzah!!

I’m listening to R10G in Germany (Soest). Medium Wave reception is fine even during the day, and I can improve my dutch!!
    Keep the good airwaves rolling!
