Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation to set up 47 FM stations

The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) will set up 47 new FM radio stations over the next three years to ensure 100 percent coverage in terms of both area and population, reports the Daily Times of Pakistan. This was stated by PBC Director-General Tarique Imam while talking to an eight-member Malaysian delegation led by Information Secretary-General Dr Arshad Hashim at the PBC headquarters

Mr Imam briefed the delegation on the news, programme and engineering departments of the organisation, adding that the media could play an important role in expanding and promoting friendship between both countries. Draft proposals for bilateral cooperation between Radio Pakistan and Radio Malaysia were also discussed, and the two sides expressed a desire to enhance cooperation and exchange programmes regularly. In addition, visits of technical and professional personnel from Pakistan to facilities in Malaysia and vice versa were also agreed.
