Negotiations due to resume today in CBC dispute

CBC Management and the Canadian Media Guild are due to resume talks today in their first face-to-face meeting since the CBC locked out 5,500 employees on 15 August after a 15 month dispute over job security. According to the Guild website “The parties, through their chief negotiators, have had some good discussions over the last few days and have agreed it’s time to get the negotiating committees back together.” CBC spokesman Jason MacDonald confirmed that “preliminary talks” would take place.
