Since 22 April, listeners in Dubai can tune in to Monte Carlo Doualiya (MCD) on 95.3 FM. This is the first time that the Arabic-language station, part of the Audiovisuel Extérieur de la France (AEF) group which includes Radio France International and France 24, has broadcast on FM in the United Arab Emirates.
“After French, Arabic is the top priority language for AEF. So we have to develop it and that’s what we’re doing at Monte Carlo Doualiya. The Arabic language is at the heart of what Audiovisuel Extérieur de la France cares about, and I am especially delighted that listeners can now tune in to us in the United Arab Emirates” said AEF CEO Alain de Pouzilhac.
MCD broadcasts on mediumwave 1233 kHz from Cyprus, and on 14 FM transmitters in various countries in the Arab world, with its latest relay recently set up in Ramallah. The station will soon also reach Nablus and Hebron.
