Internet links between Europe, the Middle East and South Asia have been disrupted after undersea cables failed in the Mediterranean. International telephone and internet services in Egypt were down by 80 percent, in India by 65 percent. The company managing the cables says a ship is under way to carry out repairs. France Telecom says communications may not be fully restored before 31 December.

Didn’t something like this happen awhile back, if so did they find out what caused it last me or is there something in the Med that doesn’t like modern communications?
