According to an on-screen ticker, the online TV station Libya Al Hurra, founded by the late Mohammed Nabbous, is now available on Arabsat. Various tweets say it’s on 11585 V 27500 3/4. It’s also reported on Eurobird 2 at 25.5° East on 11013 H.
I’m still trying to clarify whether the new station Libya Ahrar TV from Doha actually launched on schedule last night. I was informed that there is a delay, but I have not managed to confirm that. Additional observations on either station are welcome.
Update: Chris Greenway confirms that the new station from Doha did launch on schedule, and there’s now a third opposition station. See comments.

Hi Andy. Yes, the new Libyan opposition TV channel in Doha launched last night (30 March). And, what’s more, almost immediately it was relayed by the Benghazi-based Libya Al Hurra, which seems to have had problems in getting established with regular programminng of its own.
The Doha channel looks slick and professional.
And a third opposition channel, Ahfad al-Mukhtar (Descendants of Al-Mukhtar), is now also visible on the same Eurobird transponder as Libya Al Hurra.

Thanks Chris. I’m surprised the launch of the Doha channel didn’t get more coverage, but I suppose the arrival in London of Moussa Koussa was the big story of the evening. I haven’t had time to check media news today as I was in a meeting and then producing for our website. Interesting that there’s yet another opposition channel. I guess this confirms reports that the opposition doesn’t speak with one voice
Unfortunately, the death of Mohammed Al-Nabbous has left a big void for Libya Al Hurra. I watched quite a lot of his broadcasts and they seemed focused on the humanitarian problems rather than taking a particular political line.

Can someone tell me how to get these Libyan channels in the US (west coast)? I know you can\’t pick up ArabSat or NileSat from the US but was wodnering if there is a relay to other Sats we can pick up.
