IBA to provide daily TV newscast in US on MHz Networks Worldview

The Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has agreed to provide a daily half-hour English-language newscast for inclusion on MHz Networks’ nationally distributed channel MHz Worldview in the US. The newscast airs live in Israel at 7 PM daily and will air on MHz Worldview at 4:30 PM EDT, beginning the first week of June.

The IBA weekly public affairs series “Close Up” premieres this summer as part of a new international public affairs block on MHz Worldview. “We think this unique programme can help fill a void of information available about this area of the world, and Israel, in particular,” says Frederick Thomas, Chief Executive, MHz Networks.

The newscast will be available to over 2.3 million Washington, DC households via broadcast (over the air), cable, satellite and telco on MHz Networks 1 (MHz Worldview DC).

The IBA programme will also be available to over 18 million households - in half of the top-20 TV markets in the US - through MHz Worldview broadcast and/or cable affiliates in:

Chicago, IL - WYCC; San Francisco, CA - KCSM; Stanford, CA - Stanford University Cable; Washington, DC - WNVC/MHz Networks; Tacoma-Seattle, WA - KBTC; Minneapolis, MN - MPS Cable; St. Paul, MN - St. Paul Neighborhood Network; Miami, FL - WLRN; Denver, CO - KBDI; Orlando, FL - WCEU; Salt Lake City, UT - UEN statewide; New Orleans, LA - WLAE; Las Vegas, NV - VegasPBS; Richmond, VA - WCVE; Charleston, IL - WEIU; Flint, MI - WDCQ; Warrensburg, MO - KMOS; Austin-Rochester, MN - KSMQ and Charlottesville, VA - WHTJ as well as via the US satellite footprint on DirecTV and WorldTV (powered by GlobeCast, G19) satellite.
