HCJB Global wins 1 kW FM transmitter from Broadcast Electronics

Broadcast Electronics has announced that Charles Jacobson of HCJB Global has won the drawing for a new BE STX LP 1kW low-power transmitter. Jacobson’s name was drawn by the transmitter manufacturer’s staff this week out of dozens of entries submitted during the NAB Show. He is the manager of engineering and development for the technology department at HCJB Global.

The new BE STX LP transmitter is expected to ship in June and will likely go to a new low-powered Christian station in Africa or Asia Pacific, according to Jacobson. “We are very grateful to BE. We can definitely use a transmitter of this physical size and power,” he commented.

A second transmitter will be awarded in the Broadcast Electronics Oldest Operating BE Transmitter contest online at www.bdcast.com/contest through 1 June, 2009. Any BE transmitter currently in operation qualifies broadcasters to win a 1kW STX LP transmitter in celebration of BE’s 50-year anniversary. On 18 June, a panel of BE judges will select a winner based on transmitter age, site conditions, and application, among other qualifications.
