EBU writes to Greg Dyke

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has published the text of a letter written by EBU Secretary General Jean Stock to former BBC Director-General Greg Dyke following his departure from the BBC. Stock writes that “From Geneva we have watched with admiration how you have invigorated the “mother of broadcasting” during your years of tenure - not least by setting the BBC on a path that has blazed the trail of new digital services in the information society. Your departure will be a huge loss to broadcasting at a time when the whole concept of public service is coming under severe scrutiny throughout Europe.”

Interesting to know that Jean Stock wrote this letter on his very last working day as secretary general of the EBU.
His successor Jean Réveillon takes office today (first working day in February) at EBU headquarters….
