Dutch radio station attempts world record broadcast

At 1300 UTC today, Dutch radio station Radio 192 began broadcasting the top 10,000 hits of all time. The station believes that never before has such a long hitlist been broadcast, and will attempt to get two entries in the Dutch version of the Guiness Book of Records - the longest hitlist and longest continuous broadcast. The programme is on the air 24 hours a day from now until New Year’s Eve. The hitlist has been compiled from the best-sellers of the Netherlands, Great Britain and the United States, and contains records released between 1954 and 1990. Radio 192 is heard on 95% of Dutch cable systems, and also streams via its Web site at www.radio192.nl.
