The Dutch radio listening figures for June/July 2010 were published today by research bureau Intomart GfK. The biggest gain was for public news/talk network Radio 1, which saw its market share rise by 0.6 percent month-on-month, and 0.5 percent year-on-year. By contrast, public network Radio 2 saw a modest fall of 0.3 percent month-on-month, but a massive 1.5 percent fall year-on-year.
The leading commercial station, Radio 538, saw only a slight month-on-month fall, but is down 0.7 percent year-on-year. Once the Dutch market leader, Sky Radio is also down 0.7 percent year-on-year, though it did make a slight recovery from last month.
As it happens, public network 3FM is up year-on-year by the same amount, and month-on-month by 0.3 percent. Another commercial station to record a significant year-on-year fall is Q-music, down 0.6 percent.
It was a good month for the regional public stations, which saw their cumulative share rise 0.7 percent compared to May/June. Unusually, and no doubt due to the peak vacation season, only one national station - BNR Nieuwsradio - had an identical market share to last month.
