Research Bureau Intomart GfK has today published the Dutch radio listening figures for June/July 2008. Market leader Radio 538 has lost share, but it still comfortably ahead of its nearerst rival, public network Radio 2. The other big loser this month, perhaps surprisingly, was Q-music, which saw its share slip by 0.5 percent after many months of steady rises. It was a good month for public newstalk station Radio 1, whose share rose by 0.7 percent.
Most other stations saw only a small change from the May/June figures, but Arrow Classic Rock has again lost listeners, and is way below the market share that was expected when the station moved to FM. It has now been overtaken by 100%NL, which continues to add listeners. However Arrow’s other main station, Arrow Jazz FM, remains stable.
Remarkable is that listening to ‘other stations’ has increased from 5.4 to 6.1 percent, and this is probably due to participants including such things as listening to RNW when they were on vacation.
The market shares in percent (May/June shares in brackets) were as follows:
- Radio 538 11.6 (12.0)
