The Media Council in Saxony, Germany, has approved an application by the Dutch public broadcasting network Radio 1 to operate an FM service in Leipzig on Sunday 11 June when the Dutch national football team plays its World Cup match against Serbia and Montenegro there. A transmitter operating on 90.8 MHz will be installed at Leipzig’s Central stadium, and match day broadcasts in Dutch, presented by familiar names from Radio 1, will be on the air between 1300 and 1900 local time. The pre-match and post-match programming will consist of information, interviews and music. Coverage of the game (ko 1500) will be carried live in parallel with Radio 1 in the Netherlands, providing fans who have travelled without a ticket with a way of following the match. If the Dutch team wins its group in the first qualifying round, it will play a second match in Leipzig on Saturday 24 June (ko 2100), and the arrangement will be repeated at 1900-0100 local time.

Actually it’s the Zentralstadion (= central stadium). “Standort” just donates “transmitter site” in this context. Coordinated power for 90.8 MHz are 10 watts, by the way.
I wonder if this will be special programming or just a relay of NOS Radio 1 as carried in the Netherlands on FM? Would assume the latter to be the case, since the SLM press release mentions a satellite feed.

There will be special programming for two hours before and two hours after the game. The actual match commentary will be simulcast with the main Radio 1 network, appparently using a satellite receiver. This suggests the local service will come from outside the stadium, probably in a hotel room.
