Dutch Media Authority gives go-ahead for Arrow takeover

The Dutch Media Authority has given its approval for the takeover of the Arrow Media Group (Arrow Classic Rock and Arrow Jazz FM) by Crosspoints BV, a company with PCM Publishers as the sole shareholder. Under Dutch media law, no publisher can operate a commercial radio station if it has one third or more of the daily newspaper market. In this case, PCM is involved in a joint venture with Wegener (AD NieuwsMedia), and PCM has around 25% share in the newspapers (de Volkskrant, NRC Handelsblad and Trouw). The Dutch Media Authority is satisfied that PCM and AD NieuwsMedia are separate companies, and that PCM does not have majority control of the newspapers, so the takeover can go ahead.
