China eases Internet censorship

China has eased its restrictions on Internet access during the Olympic Games. The websites of Amnesty International and a number of other organisations are now accessible to foreign journalists. However, web pages on the banned Falun Gong spiritual movement and Tibet’s government in exile remain out of bounds. The International Olympic Committee previously prompted a wave of protests by signing an agreement with China on Internet censorship for foreign journalists.
