The China-ASEAN Radio and Television Broadcasting Summit was launched in Beijing today. 100 representatives of TV and broadcasting organizations from China and 10 ASEAN member countries attended the event.
The Director of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, Wang Taihua, delivered the keynote speech at the opening. He said radio and television play an important role in promoting friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of China and ASEAN countries. Wang spoke about the development of broadcasting in China, saying he hoped the summit would help increase bilateral cooperation in the field.
The three-day forum titled “Exchanges, cooperation and development” will feature discussions relating to broadcasting policy, social responsibility and development. Participants are set to release a Summit Declaration” and a number of bilateral cooperation agreements.
