British movie about Poland’s Radio Maryja in production

British filmmaker Aro Korol is releasing a film entitled Hitler’s Daughter, about the controversial Catholic priest Father Tadeusz Rydzyk and his radio station Radio Maryja. There is little information about the film available as it is currently in production. A trailer has, however, been released that accuses Radio Maryja of inciting anti-Semitic sentiment in Poland. The film’s title references the radio station, comparing it to Hitler’s daughter and trailer makes a direct comparison of Rydzyk to Third Reich Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels.

The four-and-a-half minute trailer includes fragments of Father Rydzyk’s broadcasts as well as showing an attack on Rafal Maszkowski, known critic of Radio Maryja, by Father Piotr Andrukiewicz, a Redemptorist priest and close employee and colleague of Rydzyk. Andrukiewicz reacted aggressively to Maszkowski by passing out fliers titled ‘Why is Radio Maryja under attack?’

The trailer includes footage of Auschwitz, accompanied by text that claims that Radio Maryja contributes to the high level of anti-Semitism in Poland.

The full-length film is expected to be released next year and is produced by Awesome Industry, owned by the man responsible for the film, Aro Korol.
