The mediumwave frequency used for the 24 hour relay of the BBC World Service in Auckland, New Zealand will be changed at midnight local time on Thursday. The current frequency, 1476 kHz, has been sold by its owners, Auckland International Airport. The BBC broadcasts will move to 810 kHz, and the the Auckland Radio Trust, which is responsible for the BBC relays, hopes the change of frequency will provide a stronger signal.
