Arrow appeals to listeners for donations to stay on air

Dutch commercial stations Arrow Classic Rock and Arrow Jazz FM have launched an appeal to listeners for donations in the hope of staving off closure by 11 March. As an incentive, the websites of both stations are offering an exclusive CD to those who donate more than €15. However, raising nearly €9 million in two weeks seems a tall order, and there’s no indication of what will happen to the donated money if the total raised is insufficient.

This shows that it is all over for Arrow.
To pay the high Government costs all stations can start begging for money, except for Radio 538 and Sky Radio. BNR Newsradio has already started with this.
In fact it was irresponsible to have the Arrow formats on FM, to high costs for niche formats. I cannot appreciate the policy of doing this knowing that you will never be able to go break even.
Arrow has been accused by rival stations of unfair competition by not paying all its costs for the frequencies to the Government, while others did.
