The Islamic adminstration of Al-shabab in Mogadishu has taken over the control of local FM radio station called Holy Qur’an Radio in the Somali capital Mogadishu, the director said yesterday. Mohamed Abdiwahab Abdullahi read a letter from the administration of Al-shabab for Bandir region to the journalists saying that from that day Al-shabab had taken over the radio station. All the instruments and properties of the radio station would belong to all the Muslims and there will no be anyone in particular who owned it.
The administration of Al-shabab for Banadir region said it would increase the religious programming of the station. Shortly after the takeover the station started boradcasting lectures and other lessons prepared by Al-shabab.
