Korea Communications Commission considers allowing 24h broadcasting

The Korea Communications Commission will consider allowing terrestrial broadcasters to broadcast around the clock and test 3-D terrestrial broadcasting next year. These and other plans were revealed in the KCC’s 2010 operations report to President Lee Myung-bak yesterday. RTBF International confirms dropping shortwave

RTBF International has confirmed that its shortwave transmissions [currently on 9970 kHz] will cease as of 2215 UTC on 31 December. New digital TV journal launched

A new journal which aims to bring together academics, broadcasters and policy-makers, and share experiences about the analogue to digital transition internationally, has been launched. Called the International Journal of Digital Television, the publication contains national case studies of digital switchovers, and comparative analyses of experiences in different countries.

Hong Kong digital TV coverage to expand
