The Serbian government has announced the appointment of a new director for International Radio Serbia. The new director is Milorad Vujovic. The Government has dismissed the acting director of the station, Milena Jokic. Ms Jockic actually resigned in July 2009, following a dispute with the government over the future of the station.

The Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA) has suspended its members in Fiji. The decision means Fijian broadcasters with full membership of the CBA will no longer get access to training and development programs funded by the Commonwealth. China Central Television has begun broadcasting in the Maldives. Now, all major countries in South Asia can watch CCTV programmes. The deal calls for CCTV-4 and CCTV-9 to be broadcast around the clock in 30 high-class hotels in the capital Malé and its surrounding islands.
