Finnish AM transmitter to go silent at 2200 UTC
A powerful AM transmitter in Scandinavia will be switched off permanently at local midnight tonight. The 600 kW Finnish transmitter at Pori on 963 kHz will go silent at 2200 UTC with the ending of shortwave/mediumwave broadcasts by the external service, Radio Finland.

Radio Waddenzee/Radio Seagull broadcasting from temporary mast
Dutch commercial broadcaster Radio Waddenzee/Radio Seagull, based in Friesland, is currently broadcasting via a KPN transmitting mast near the village of Moddergat. The reason is that the main transmitting faciiity is being moved from Finkum to Pietersbierum, near Harlingen. This means the mast has to be dismantled, moved to Pietersbierum and then reassembled.

100 employees of Azerbaijan State Radio retired
100 more employees of Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Closed Joint-Stock Company will be sent to retirement from 1 January 2007, Az.TV personnel department chief Mansur Bayramov told the Azeri-Press Information Agency.
