Indian government says many FM listeners prefer AIR to private broadcasters

Indian Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi has informed the Lok Sabha (parliament) in a written reply that in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Lucknow, All India Radio (AIR) has more FM listeners that commercial competitors.

China/Laos: China Radio International on air in Vientiane

External broadcaster China Radio International (CRI) launched a local FM relay service in Vientiane, the Laotian capital, on Sunday 19 November 2006. BFBS Radio about to launch on Sky in the UK

BFBS Radio, which serves the UK Armed Forces worldwide, announces on its website that it is launching on satellite to the UK via the Sky platform on on Monday 4th December. The EPG number wiill be 0184. Presumably this will be a relay of BFBS Radio 1.

Thai activists petition court to delist state broadcaster Mcot

Activists in Thailand yesterday submitted a petition to the Supreme Administrative Court urging it to delist state broadcaster Mcot. Moroccan TV news network set to launch

Morocco will have its first private TV news channel in just over a week, the Communications Minister Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah has announced, saying the channel, broadcasting in Arabic and French, will be operative from December.
