Radio Netherlands in Hilversum Holland presents
A PORTRAIT OF DAVID ZINMAN
David Zinman has been permanent conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra since 1969.
Born in New York in 1936, he became engaged in Dutch musical life in 1963.
Guus Feist, head of Radio Netherland’s music department interviewed David Zinman and compiled this portrait.
Most of the excerpts in this program are from new recordings on the Philips label, with David Zinman conducting the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Some were only recently released.
