This week’s feature Dutch music artist is Elle Bandita. Our Music Man, Robbert Tilli from the Music Center of the Netherlands, calls her the Dutch Joan Jet.
Elle - her real name is Ryanne - started out as a guitarist for the now-defunct all-girl punk rock band “The Riplets”. When the band broke up in 2006, Elle suddenly had a lot more time for solo work… and, with a synthesizer + her own rocking guitar (you can’t help jumping to the music), people began to listen up.
According to Robbert Tilli, this is the year for this “rock b*tch” who can “really spank that plank” (which apparently means she can rock out on the guitar, thanks for the lingo, Robbert!) and she’s the only real female guitar hero in Holland.
